To date, $1.4 million has been provided for Hurricane Irma relief and recovery efforts benefiting thousands of residents from Key West to Key Largo. We’re continuing to receive donations to help with long-term rebuilding efforts.
Florida Keys Emergency Relief Fund
The Florida Keys Emergency Relief Fund provides relief and recovery to residents of the Florida Keys affected by Hurricane Irma. Funds are being distributed to help residents get their lives and homes back in order by helping people with repairs, transportation needs, rent and housing, medical supplies and care, child care, and much more, by working with local nonprofits and faith-based partners.
100 percent of all donations go directly to help Keys residents.
The Community Foundation of the Florida Keys is a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit (EIN #65-0648968). All donations to the Florida Keys Emergency Relief Fund are tax deductible.
Some areas of the Keys were hit harder than others. Donations may be designated to help a specific ‘area’ of the Keys; i.e., Lower, Middle, or Upper Keys, although they cannot be designated to a specific individual or business.
Monroe County Long Term Recovery Group
CFFK has been selected to serve as the Fiscal Agent for the newly formed Monroe County Long Term Recovery Group (LTRG) collaborative. The LTRG was established to address the ongoing effects of Hurricane Irma on the residents of Monroe County by collaborating with nonprofit services and the faith-based community. The LTRG will use contributions to help repair and restore housing impacted by Irma while addressing the ongoing needs of its community members who are storm victims.
More information on assistance from the LTRG is available by calling 305-849-2252.
Landau Family Hurricane Relief Fund for the Upper Keys
Keys residents, Jon & Julie Landau have created the Landau Family Hurricane Relief Fund for the Upper Keys. “What makes the Keys special is not the azure blue waters but rather the community of people that choose to call the Keys their home,” says Jon. “The purpose of this fund is to distribute grants to assist those residents and businesses of the Upper Keys who are suffering from the impact of Hurricane Irma. These grants will in turn help to keep the community intact.”
