Friends of the Foundation

Donors will become Friends of the Foundation with gifts under $1,000.

Memorials and Honorariums

Florida Keys Future Fund

The Florida Keys Future Fund supports grants to local nonprofits throughout the Keys in all areas, including the arts, environment, healthcare, recreation and more. This grant making fund is truly the power of collective giving in action.

Community Foundation Awards $100,000 For Immediate Hurricane Irma Relief

Another $100,000 has been distributed to four nonprofits to continue to address urgent relief needs in the Keys following Hurricane Irma. The grants were awarded from the Florida Keys Emergency Relief Fund and the Landau Family Hurricane Relief Fund for the Upper Keys to provide much-needed relief for teachers, families, students and individuals from Key West to Key Largo. The four nonprofits will provide direct assistance to individuals:

  • Florida Keys Outreach Coalition, $25,000 to continue to address urgent and immediate housing and other emergencies in the Upper Keys. Call 305-916-5454 for assistance.
  • Florida Keys Fishing Guides Association, $25,000 to provide much-needed help for rent, housing and other needs for full-time fishing guides. Contact Steve Friedman at for more information.
  • Monroe County Education Foundation, $25,000 to provide immediate assistance to teachers and educators Keys-wide. For assistance, contact Chuck Licis at
  • Samuel’s House, on behalf of the Hurricane Disaster Community Relief Fund, $25,000 to address ongoing housing needs in Key West and the Lower Keys. Call 305-296-0240 for more information.

These relief grants complement the $38,000 awarded two weeks ago by CFFK for immediate relief with housing and rent issues. Additional grants will be made in the coming weeks to address longer-term recovery and rebuilding efforts. Applications for assistance are now being accepted from Keys nonprofits and are due October 31st at 5 p.m. Nonprofits can apply for assistance here.
