Today, consider serving our community in any way you can to “make it a day ON… not a day off!” It’s the National Day of Service. As we celebrate the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, we also mark the annual Day of Service promoting volunteerism and encouraging citizens to help their communities. Our Keys residents are incredible volunteers, doing everything from cleaning up our beaches to providing food to those in need to mentoring students, and so much more. We will honor over 80 volunteers at the Unsung Heroes Virtual Celebration on Feb. 5th. Get involved and help make our island Paradise even better. ... See MoreSee Less

Now is a great time to start making charitable giving plans for 2021. Nonprofits will be relying on donors to stay afloat and serve our Keys residents who need their programs and services. The recent Coronavirus Stimulus 2.0 Bill includes a one-year extension of several CARES Act’s provisions: 1) Even for taxpayers who don’t itemize deductions, charitable contributions up to $300 per taxpayer ($600 for joint filers) are allowed through 2021. 2) Individuals who itemize can elect to deduct donations up to 100% of their adjusted gross income. Opening a donor-advised fund is also a powerful estate planning tool. We can help you develop your giving plans for 2021. Learn more at cffk.org or call Jennifer at 305-292-1502. Thanks Vin. He will be missed by many. I now wonder what is happening with Island House. I think back many times to Hurricane Wilma and the generosity he/they gave to us. It brings tears to my eyes.
