The extension does not apply to nonprofits and business entities, so it’s business as usual on April 15 for entities filing Forms 990 and 1120. Long-time Key West resident Phil Miani has made a generous commitment to an ongoing donation of $500/month to provide operating support for the Bahama Village Music Program (BVMP). A retired Community Foundation of the Florida Keys board member, Miani named “The Miani Sassy Cat Fund” at the Community Foundation in honor of his black cat Sassy who recently passed away. BVMP provides free music education to youth who would not otherwise have access to private music instruction. Said Kawana Staffney, BVMP Executive Director, “We are eternally grateful. This much needed funding will help us continue to make a joyful noise into the future." To honor someone you love by giving ongoing support to a cause you care about, call 305-292-1502 or visit cffk.org to learn about opening a charitable fund at the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys.
